Cahokia Mounds

situated directly across the Mississippi River from modern St. Louis, Missouri.
It is in Southern Illinois and was used for religious celebrations and burials.

Abe Lincoln and his family lived from 1844 to 1861 before becoming the
16th president of the U.S. Robert Todd Lincoln was born there.
